Pastoral Care

Throughout our lives, we often face challenging times. Sometimes we need other people during these times for spiritual or emotional care. Our pastors are always available for pastoral care. Below are some ways our pastors can be there for you during a difficult time.

  • Counseling for emotional or spiritual needs

  • Pre-marital counseling through Prepare/Enrich

  • Grief counseling and support

  • Home/nursing facility visit

  • Hospital visit

  • Home blessings

  • Holy Communion and/or anointing with oil at your home or hospital

If you find yourself needing pastoral care, please let the church office know. We would love to offer care, so it's helpful to know when someone is in the hospital, ill, or in distress. Give the office a call at (303) 756-1595.

If you have a pastoral care emergency, call Pastor Stacy at 303.587.1960.

Holy Baptism

IMG_7409.heic

Holy Baptism is the first of two sacraments in the United Methodist Church, the other being Holy Communion. Baptism is often called the "initiatory sacrament" because it ritually cleanses and marks us as beloved children of God living in community with other Christians. As United Methodists, we encourage persons of all ages to pursue baptism: infants, teens, and adults. God's grace doesn't have an age limit.

At Grace, we baptize by pouring or sprinkling holy water over one's head. Holy water is just regular water that has been blessed by a pastor. Then we make the sign of the cross on one's forehead with blessed oil. This is to recognize and seal the presence of the Holy Spirit. Baptisms can be scheduled throughout the year in any of our worship services.

The United Methodist Church recognizes baptisms from other Christian denominations. Although, we do not re-baptize people, we remember our baptisms in baptismal renewal at various times throughout the year.

Communion Fund

Come to me, all you who are struggling hard and carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Put on my yoke, and learn from me. I’m gentle and humble. And you will find rest for yourselves. Matthew 11:28-30 CEB

Throughout the week, persons frequently come by the church needing help with utilities, food, gas, medicine, and a handful of other needs. When we have the funds, it is a blessing to be able to help these people. However, our ability to help is dependent on the generosity of individuals and families.

On Sundays when we celebrate Holy Communion, there are offering plates at the front of the church. After receiving the elements, you are invited to leave an offering in those plates. The Communion Fund finances our benevolence and charity with people who come to the church in financial need. This Communion Fund is under the auspices of Grace's Treasurer and is administered by our lead pastor. While we maintain confidentiality, the financials are available from Pastor Seth at any time. Thank you for your generosity.
